Manda was the sea god of the Mu kingdom in the film Atragon and went to appear in several Godzilla films.
When the warship Gotengo attacked the kingdom, Manda was released. It wrapped his body around the ship and trying to constrict it. But the Gotengo charged electricity, electrocuting Manda. Manda being somewhat dazed unwrapped himself and tried to swim away. The Gotengo chased after, and fired the Absolute Zero Cannon, which froze Manda. Mote not actually killing the beast.
Later they take Manda to Monster Island. In 1999, aliens called the Kilaaks came to Earth and Manda was one of the monsters, that were being mind controlled. The Kilaaks made them attack major cities around the world. Manda attack Tokyo, along with Mothra, and Godzilla. Manda is seen constrict itself around a bridge, like he did to the Gotengo warship. Later when the monsters are freed from mind control. the monsters were sent to fight King Ghidorah. Manda did not fight in the battle, but merely watched from the hills with Baragon and Varan. After the death of King Ghidorah, he and the other monsters are later returned to monster island.
Later, Manda has a brief cameo appearance in "Godzilla's Revenge". Much later on in "Godzilla: Final Wars" Manda attacks Normandy, the newly upgraded Gotengo, its old nemesis comes and attacks Manda. At first, Manda had the upper hand and was able to constrict himself around the Gotengo much like in Atragon. Luckily However, the crew spotted an underwater volcano and charged their ship into it, with Manda still attached to the their ship. Manda was forced to uncoiled due to the extensive heat and swam away. The Gotengo tailed Manda, but Manda sneakily charged at the ship. However, the Gotengo turned around and fired the absolute zero cannon to freeze the weakened Manda, and then rammed into him with its powerful drill, ending the sea gods long reign of terror, learning their mistakes from before.
